Mark A. Mathews
Fire Chief

The City of Red Bank Fire Department is lead by Fire Chief Mark A. Mathews. He took command of the department on July 1st, 1989. He is Red Bank's 4th fire chief since the city took over fire protection from a private provider in 1971.

A native of Chattanooga and a graduate of Chattanooga High School, Chief Mathews began his fire service career with the Red Bank Fire Department in 1975 as a volunteer fire fighter.

He was hired as a fulltime fire fighter on December 12th, 1975 and has held the ranks of Sergeant, Engineer, Lieutenant, Captain, Training Officer, and Assistant Chief.

Chief Mathews holds several State Certifications that include Journeyman Fire Fighter, Fire Instructor I, Fire Officer I, Driver/Engineer, and Emergency Medical First Responder.
